In 2016 CurraL was created in party format as a reward for a campaign by OMOLOKO to purchase a new computer. The name “CurraL” is a tribute to the hometown of the DJ – Currais Novos – and also the first name of Belo Horizonte (MG), which was initially called Curral Del Rei. In English “CurraL” means “corral”.
From the beginning, the party proposal its about the infinite sound possibilities that can be established between the artist and the crowd, creating a dance floor without musical line. It is through this freedom that this material sews with 19 songs by local producers, a narrative that honors not only Belo Horizonte, but also an plural electronic scene as ours.
The “CurraL001” it is a work that was produced during a year full of adversity, in the midst of a pandemic, but shows the creative and musical sensitivity developed by these artists in this period.
We don’t know how far this work will go, but if it’s in your hands right now, keep this vinyl with affection and know that it represents the union of several stories that materialize as art in this album. Have a nice trip!
